I draw inspiration from the precision of maps and the organic flow of miniature worlds, capturing the interplay between structure and fluidity in life. My abstractions merge with existing lines and grids, creating a dynamic dialogue between reality and imagination.
Moving Forward
My journey with landscape painting began with highly abstract and often minimal works on canvas, focusing primarily on line, color, and composition. Over time, my landscapes naturally evolved to become more representational, reflecting specific locations. Recently, I’ve started incorporating actual maps as the foundation of my paintings and mark-making. The maps not only ground the work in a tangible sense of place but also introduce a precision that harmonizes with the abstractions.
